DIP Enterprise Awards

The Docklands Innovation Park Enterprise Awards are open to companies based or incubating in the Park. The Bolton Trust offers €10,000 annually for the best investment proposal. This year three finalists presented to a panel of distinguished judges and an audience including guests from the venture capital and banking sector.

The judges selected Jonathan Mulligan Founder & Managing Director, Openplain as the winner of the 2007 DIP Enterprise Awards.

Jonathan founded Openplain in 2004 and is co-inventor of its core technology. Prior to Openplain, Jonathan spent almost a decade with Baltimore Technologies designing and implementing distributed enterprise software solutions for clients such as the Irish Revenue, Nokia and the Australian Department of Defence. He has also consulted for many government bodies including personally instructing An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and President Bill Clinton on intergovernmental e-security matters. Jonathan received a firstclass honours degree in Computer Science from Dublin City University, a Masters of Science from the School of Mathematics, Trinity College Dublin and a Post Graduate Diploma in New Business Development from the Dublin Institute of Technology.

"IFSC based Openplain, has recently launched JournalLive.com - an online service, helping Irish businesses increase office worker productivity levels. The company is currently in negotiations to secure a 1 million euro investment package that will fund expansion in to the UK and US markets."

2004 - Dr Ivan Coulter Sigmoid Technologies Ltd
Sigmoid is focused on the development of innovative delivery technologies for pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The Company went on to win the All Ireland InterTrade Ireland Seed Corn Competition in 2005.

2003 - Dr John McKeon Allergy Standards Ltd
Allergy Standards Ltd was set up to develop a certification process that could be applied to soft toys, bedding products and indoor environments to ensure that they fulfilled certain criteria making them suitable for use by individuals with asthma and allergic sensitivities.
